Pune has its own tradition of Ganesh Festival. It has 5 Ganeshas as most honored as these are oldest ganeshas established in Public. During immersion process (visarjan) these 5 ganeshas have honor of first place immersions & then other ganeshas are immersed.

Kasba Ganpati First Ganpati of Honor in Pune.

Established In 1893 Location : 159, Kasba Peth, Pune.
Mandal is gracing the first place in immersion procession since 1894.
The idol was found near the house of Shri Vinayak Thakar, then he build a beautiful mandir for this idol, which is the 'GramDaivat' of Pune Shri Kasba Ganpati.

Tambdi Jogeshwari Second Ganpati of Honor in Pune.

Established In 1893 33,Budhwar Peth,Pune ..
This is among one of the Ganpatis which Tilak started for the cause of social uprisement.
Now the mandal is 107 years old this year. The murti of Lord Ganesh has its uniqueness.
From last so many years they are using the murti of the same kind which has resemblance of elephants of Africa.

Guruji Talim Third Ganpati of Honor in Pune.

Established In 1887 , Location Ganpati Chowk, Laxmi Road, Pune.
This mandal was established in 1887 even before Late Lokmanya Tilak started this festival.
It was established as a symbol of Hindu Muslim unity. First mandal who celebrated its centenary.

Tulsibaug Fourth Ganpati of Honor in Pune.

Established In 1901 Location : Tulshi Baug Ram Mandir, Pune.
This is the old and famous Ganesh mandal in Pune.
This mandal is known for the size of the Ganesh idol.This is the first mandal to make a fiber glass idol of Ganpati.
Every year a new 15 feet high idol is created by Mr.D.S.Khataokar.
This mandal is completing its centenary next year.

Kesariwada Fifth Ganpati of Honor in Pune.

Established In 1893 Location : 568, Narayanpeth Tilakwada, Pune.
Late Lokmanya Tilak established this idol in year 1893.
This mandal vows to take up social and cultural undercurrents of the society.
Organizes shows of renowned artists and speeches of great personalities during the festival. Organizes various activities and competitions for children and women.

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM
machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse.

For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM
recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the
machine.

The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the
robber,the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is
seldom used because people don't know it exists.

Pune Stock Exchange Ltd. is a company limited by guarantee. The Exchange was established on 2nd Sept. 1982 to cater to the needs of the growing investor community in the city.

Starting small, with 35 members and a few lac rupees business initially, the exchange has grown tremendously to over 185 members and about 15-20 crores of business daily. Much of the work is computerised with a smooth settlement system. Over 310 companies are listed with the Stock Exchange.

The Exchange, while providing an efficient market also upholds investors interests and ensures redressal of their grievances. It also strives to educate and enlighten investors by making available necessary information inputs.

Pune Stock Exchange opted for the on-line screen based trading in 1995. The Exchange has been successfully using a screen based Trading System, based on VECTOR (Versatile Engine for Centralised Trading and On-line Reporting) and developed and implemented by CMC Ltd,for more than three years now. The present operations cover 183 broker members and 9 workstations for administration, Market Operations and Surveillance activities of PSE.

Pune Stock Exchange has been looking into the possibilitioes of widening its activities to different parts of Pune city and to other cities like Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Nashik and Mumbai.

PSE ranks 7th in the country & here are the Highlights for this year:

The income of the Stock Exchange from Listing Fees, Interest and Dividend decreased marginally, compared to last year due to the overall drop in the interest rates of the Bank deposits and bonds.

We could achieve a target whereby we have invested almost 90 to 95% of our invisible amount in the long-term form.

Efforts are being made to prepare the quarterly financial results of the Exchange from the coming year.

The Exchange took several steps to reduce the expenditure wherever it was possible, by implementing the proverb of "A penny saved is a penny earned".

During the year under review, we arrived at a revised salary agreement with our staff union where we have agreed to give a 25% rise while seeking a commitment for 3 years.

A new Panel of Auditors has been formed for a period of three years. It will carry out quarterly inspection of accounts books of members / brokers.

Our Stock Exchange has undertaken a time bound programme to get ourselves prepared to face 'Y2K' problems of computers.

The Exchange had planned to organize various Training Programmes for the investors,

The Exchange recorded a turnover of Rs. 4,824.06 crores this year as compared to the last year's turnover of Rs. 8,624.47 crores.

The Exchange Completed all the 51 settlements exactly as per the settlement calendar.

The Exchange has received an in-principle approval from SEBI for the Trade Guarantee Fund. The initial corpus of the fund is about Rs. 4.80 crores.

The Exchange has shifted the administrative office to Shivleela Chambers, Sadashiv Peth, Kumthekar Marg, Pune.

City roads reel under deluge of vehicles.. TOI

The growth rate of two-wheelers in the city has risen sharply from an average 62,000 vehicles per year during 2001-2005 to 95,000 from March 2005 to March 2006.

Given the continuing absence of an effective mass transport system, this growth is set to worsen the already serious traffic congestion scenario.

The Environment Status Report (ESR) of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has revealed that the number of two-wheelers has risen by 40,000 as compared to the growth rate from 2001 to 2004.

Microsoft to invest $150 mn in Pune

Microsoft is set to pump in $150 million (Rs 702.84 crore) in a mega software development centre in Pune, according to Arvind Kumar, IT secretary, government of Maharashtra.

When announced, this will be the single biggest IT investment coming into the city so far. TCS recently announced an investment of Rs 500 crore for Pune.

"This is only the beginning. We are hard selling Maharashtra to every possible MNC," Kumar said on Wednesday. He said the Microsoft investment would be announced soon and that it would be outside the Hinjewadi IT Park.

Kumar said the state is also in discussions with other multinational IT companies like Hewlett Packard and IBM to bring in their future investments into the state.

Senior state government officials recently met a delegation from IBM and laid out the red carpet to them, he said. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting organised by CSI in Pune, Kumar said: "It's time we got out of the office and sold the state to these big IT investors."

"In fact, the state has thrown open its gates and is wooing investors in the sector, trying to offer them whatever they ask for," he said.

Later, at a meeting organised by MCCIA, Kumar said Intel and Advanced Micro Devices were also on the state's list of invitees.

According to him, these hardware majors will also be given the same fiscal benefits as the software ones. Kumar said a proposal to see if free land could be granted to investors in tier II and III cities, if not Mumbai and Pune, was being considered.

The cities being promoted are Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur and Amravati.

Go Expressway!

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway, spanning a 95 km (49 mile) distance between the outskirts of the twin cities of Mumbai and Pune, is India's first controlled-access toll road. The project was completed under the stewardship of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). The first sections opened in 2000, and the entire route was completed by 2002. The new route cuts the time taken to travel between the two cities to approximately 2 hours, and for most practical purposes, has replaced the older Mumbai-Pune National Highway (NH4), which had become extremely congested and accident-prone. The expressway winds itself through the passes between the ranges of the Sahyadri hills, with picturesque scenery on either side.

The expressway has six concrete lanes on 2 carriageways, with a central divider, and a wide shoulder on either side. The maximum speed limit is 80 km/h (50 mph). There are several major tunnels on the route (at Bhatan, Madap, Kāmshet, Khandālā and Ādoshi), with a separate tunnel for each direction. The expressway is fenced the entire way to prevent animals from entering the roadway.

Toll is collected at Kalamboli (on the Mumbai side) and Dehu Road (on the Pune side), with rates ranging from Rs. 118 for private cars, to Rs. 680 for multi-axle trailer trucks. Two- and three-wheelers, and tractor vehicles are prohibited from plying on the expressway.

MEMO TO INDIAN STAFF

In view of the large number of Indians working in the USA,

and many other countries with White People, it has become important for Human Resources Department to issue directives to their Indian staff.

TO ALL HINDI-SPEAKING STAFF

It has been brought to our attention by several officials visiting our corporate headquarters that offensive language is commonly used by our Hindi-speaking staff. Such behavior, in addition to violating our policy, is highly unprofessional and offensive to both visitors and colleagues.

Staff will IMMEDIATELY adhere to the following rules:

1. Words like CHUTIYA, GANDU and other such expressions will not be used for emphasis, no matter how heated the discussion. You will not say CHUTIYE, AKKAL NAHI HAI KYA TEREKO when someone makes a mistake, or MADAR CHOD, BHENCHOD when a major mistake has been made. All forms derived from the verb CHOD are inappropriate in our environment.

2. No project manager, section head or administrator, under any circumstances, will be referred to as GADHA or CHUTIYA. Lack of determination will not be referred to as KAAMCHOR SAALA and neither will persons who lack initiative be referred to as BHOSADIKAA or MADARCHOD.

3. Unusual or creative ideas from your superiors are not to be referred to as GAND FAADU, if a person is persistent, or if a task is heavy to accomplish. In a similar way, do not use GAND FATI, if a colleague is going through a difficult situation.

4. Furthermore, you must not say BHOSADE MEIN GAYA when matters become complicated. When asking someone to leave you alone, you must not say DIMAG KI MAA BHEN MAT KAR. Do not ever substitute 'May I help you?' with BOL TERI GAND KAISE MARU.

5. When things get tough, an acceptable ___expression such as 'We are going through a difficult time' should be used, rather than MAA CHUDI PADI HAI or GOTI MUH MEIN HAI.

6. No salary increase shall be ever referred to as KHAIRAAT BAATI JAA RAHI HAI KYA. Under no circumstances should you call our elderly corporate partners as BUDDHA KHOOSAT.

7. Last, but not least, after reading this memo, please do not say: YE KAGAJ GAND PONCHNE KE LAAYAK BHI NAHI HAI.

Do you know about "49-0"

Did you guys know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!
Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it.

This is called 49-O... why should you go and say "I vote nobody"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by xxx votes, and that particular ward has received 49-O votes more than xxx, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and he cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on him.

This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why, and election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public....

Please spread this news to as many as you know... Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... Show your power, expressing your desire not to vote anybody, is even more powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance.

* Property market in Year 2001 -2004 was quiet Ok , People were able to buy Flats in reasonable rates .

*Year 2005 -2006 , Some of the well known builders started the rates boom , flat which was at the cost of Rs.900 Sq Ft now became 2200 to 2800

Q: Are there any additional facilities ?

--> No Same Scheme/Area , Flat sold at 10 Lacks Now selling at 25 Lacks . (Baner ,Aundh , Kalyani Nagar ,Pashan,Other areas)

Q: Why Property increased so High ?

--> IT people competition to buy sweet home .

Q: Who is going to Benfit from this Property Boom ?

--> Only Builders and some of the Politicians

Q: How is the Bank's support on Home Loans ?

--> Last Year , Bank gave the loan's at flexible mimimum rate,Now Banks has sufficient number of customers ,

(Trap) Slowly Banker's increasing interst at % 0.5 every month .

IT People Who bought house for 22 Lacks for 20 Yrs , Now became 23 Yrs with raise of 0.5 %

Q. How some IT people can face the problems in Future ?

--> Companies are Project Based , If Projects are not there then People will not be there .

Q. IT salaries are high in Market , How much actually IT-people getting in Hand ?

--> People, Who bought house of 22 Lacks to 40 Lacks They need to pay EMI

There are no records maitained .

Q. Who made builders smart & greedy ?

--> Fool IT people .

No body is asking , Flat was sold at 12 Lacks , Why now 24 Lacks ?

Q. Is Corporation water & MESB available to all schemes ?

--> Some of the area don't have the Corporation water at all , People surviving on Water Tankers.

** MESB .. Under Table ,can be managed easily .

Q. What will be the condition If We are not able to Clear the Loan ?

--> Depends on individual capabilities

Q. How We can stop Builders -Property Boom ?

1) IT People should stop buying flats for atleast next 1-2 Yrs .

2) Onces rates are reasonable , With some legal process get the Booking .

3) Check Facilities, Convenience, Road Approach, schools & Mainly corporation water

Don't go by certification and best project ,One of Project in the Baner got awards for best building & all, but Buildings Looks like Loading & Boarding.

4) Ask Questions If I buy 2 BHK in Pashan , Aundh Baner ,Kayani nagar, Pimple Saudhagar & other areas at 12 to 30 Lacks , Do I get reasale value in future?

5) Today you are capable for paying 1000 -3000 maintains per month ? Will it be the same case after 20-30yrs after retirement .

6) In All, Don't stretch more to get the more & more loans other wise it will create unnecessary pressure and tension .

Needs revolution like Rang De ....... .
